READi participated at the "Workshop on Chronicity Strategies" in Murcia, Spain - 25th May 2016

 

Facing the challenge of chronicity requires investment in information technology, educating patients to manage their disease, promoting better evidence-based medicine, and integrating primary care, hospital and social care.

 

This workshop aims to provide a framework to discuss how to address chronic disease in the Region of Murcia and the experiences of other health systems in the Basque Country, Madrid, Aragon and Valencia with the following objectives:

 

  • Identify key success chronicity strategies implemented in other regions, both from the point of view of the model used as the implementation process.
  • Identify the critical elements to consider when designing chronicity strategy and align them with the needs of the region of Murcia.

The workshop inlcuded participation of the experts Mikel Ogueta, Osakidetza in the Basque Country and Olga Monedo Pérez, Coordinator of the care strategy for patients with chronic diseases in the Community of Madrid, as well as the Advisory Board members, Juan Coll, responsible of ICT at Sector sanitario de Barbastro Salud and Vicente Traver, Director of the research group SABIEN from the Institute ITACA. Community of Valencia.
