READi for Health presented the Joint Action Plan for Idea creation at Nallikari, Oulu - Finland

The Joint Action Plan (JAP) of the READi for Health project, was presented for idea creation on May 26th in Nallikari, Oulu, Finland.   Some 40 researchers, healthcare professionals, company representatives and other participants split into three working groups to tackle a range of topics, including:

  • Innovation hub
  • Advanced eHealth services
  • Interoperability
  • Big Data and Cloud
  • Internationalization
  • Procurement as a tool for innovation
  • Capacity building
  • Regional eHealth Strategy
  • Communication plan

READi continues to develop implementation of the JAP in support of our objectives to expand uptake of eHealth innovations, services and new applications for digital healthcare. Potential funding opportunities for these were also presented in the meeting.

There are numerous new opportunities in both national and European funding instruments that could prove helpful in developing solutions and service creation. Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions and Pre-Commercial Procurement were presented as potential catalysts for creation of innovative public services, and the workshop noted that SME-instruments can act as a take-off for innovative products.

The activities within the Joint Action Plan are based on regional needs previously identified through interviews with patients, healthcare leaders, researchers, business professionals and politicians. The JAP implementation work will now continue in quarterly cycles.

The READi for Health team members from the Oulu region are willing to further discuss implementation of all action points with regional stakeholders and entrepreneurs.
