READi partners attended the Northern Ireland Connected Health Ecosystem on March 25 in Belfast. The Ecosystem meets quarterly and brings together almost 190 delegates from industry, academia and health and social care with the aim of transforming healthcare and creating economic growth through the development and uptake of technology in healthcare.
The theme of the March meeting was medicines optimisation and the meeting focused on the use of pre-commercial procurement to address this area of need in the healthcare system. The use of models of both pre-commercial procurement and public procurement of innovation is a key priority for the READi regions, and the opportunity to learn from the Northern Irish experience was welcomed.
The Northern Ireland Connected Health Ecosystem is part of the ECHAlliance International Network of Connected Health Ecosystems. ECHAlliance is a member of the READi consortia.
